Love Lives Here at Concord Health
February 13, 2025
At Concord Health, we believe that love only grows stronger with time, and we're fortunate to witness that every day through the beautiful couples and lifelong friendships in our community. From serendipitous meetings to years of shared memories, these love stories remind us that true love is about care, patience, and building a life together. Equally, we are touched by the forever friendships that have blossomed here, where connections are deepened by shared experiences and mutual support.
This Valentine's season, we are honored to spotlight some of the incredible couples and friendships who have built lasting legacies of love. Their journeys are filled with wisdom, laughter, and devotion, and we are privileged to share these heartwarming stories with you.
True love is steadfast, patient, and unwavering—just like the bond between Mr. and Mrs. Wesney. This April, they will celebrate an incredible 70 years of marriage. Their love story began at a bank where they met and quickly became inseparable. Before he left for the Korean War, they started dating, and their connection grew stronger through heartfelt letters during his time in the Navy. When he returned home, their love blossomed into marriage, and they built a family of four children, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Wesney smiles when she talks about their journey, saying they’ve been
"very fortunate and happy" in their marriage. Her joy is evident as she speaks about the years they’ve shared. And when I mentioned how Mr. Wesney is here by her side every day, he responded simply but profoundly,
“It’s just what you do in a marriage, you support each other.”
At Concord, we are honored to care for Mrs. Wesney and are so grateful that her loving husband is with her every day, offering his steadfast support and showing what true love looks like.
Here’s to 70 years of love, devotion, and the beautiful bond that continues to grow stronger with time.
At Concord, we are lucky to witness some truly special friendships, and the bond between Linda and Lindsey is one that warms our hearts. Since arriving here, they've become best friends, and the beautiful things they have to say about each other are a true testament to the power of friendship.
When I asked Lindsey what he likes about Linda, he smiled and said,
"She’s outgoing and such a good person." He went on to share that he loves her sense of humor. Every evening, without fail, Lindsey goes across the hall to check on Linda and watch TV with her. He admires her deeply and says,
"She should stay just exactly how she is because she’s an amazing person."
Linda’s smile is contagious when asked about Lindsey. She says she liked him instantly because they share the same sense of humor, and he’s always been such a gentleman. But it’s not just their sense of humor that connects them—it’s their shared understanding of the physical challenges they both face.
"He's such a good person to talk to," she says, noting how they can relate to one another in ways others might not understand. She thinks of him like a son, and he sees her as a second mother.
One of Linda’s most cherished memories of their friendship is when she was feeling unwell and missed attending the monthly Bingo Store. Lindsey surprised her with a necklace and earrings, a gesture she will forever treasure. Linda closed by saying,
"I never thought I’d have a friend as special as him."
At Concord, we are privileged to witness the deep friendship between Linda and Lindsey. Their bond is a beautiful reminder that love and care can come in many forms—and true friendship is one of the most powerful connections of all.
